Hi there! Welcome to our baby names blog.
Our Mission
Our mission is to guide and support you on your journey to finding the perfect name for your little one.
Picking a name your baby can be equally exciting and overwhelming, and the pressure to pick a name that works through all of your baby’s life stages is very, very real. And that’s because you’re choosing more than just a name; you’re choosing the first gift you’ll ever give to them – a lifelong identity.
But whether you’re looking for unique, traditional, nature-inspired or celebrity-inspired names (or something in-between!) with our guides and roundups, we’ll make choosing a name for your baby what it should be: a joy!
From our families to yours,
Nadya and Alexandra
About Us

I’m Nadya, and I understand firsthand how challenging it can be to choose the perfect baby name.
My journey began with my son. My husband, a huge fan of Jude Law, and I were watching ‘Enemy at the Gates.’ The film features a character based on Vasily Zaitsev, a celebrated World War II Soviet sniper. We were captivated by the name ‘Vasily.’ Intrigued, we delved into its origins: rooted in Greek, ‘Vasily’ means ‘royal, kingly.’ We explored various spellings and learned that it’s an alternate form of ‘Basil’ (Greek) and ‘Vasilis’ (Greek), with variants like Vassily and Wasili. It was unique, uncommon, and meaningful – we knew it was the one.
However, naming our second child proved more complex. We chose not to learn the baby’s gender beforehand, leading to extensive research and lists of names for both boys and girls. Despite our efforts, when our daughter arrived, we were at a standstill – she remained nameless for a week! My husband and I couldn’t agree; every name I liked, he didn’t, and vice versa. Our families began to worry. Finally, we agreed on a variation of ‘Sophia,’ which was among the top five most popular names in the US in 2022.
This experience, shared with my friend Alexandra, inspired us to create this blog.
Our goal? To help you find the perfect baby name, hopefully, a bit quicker than I did!

Hi, I’m Alexandra. I have a 3-year-old daughter called Juliette and I spent longer choosing her name than I did studying for my university degree. And I wish that was an exaggeration.
I started looking at baby names as soon as I found out I was pregnant and found it such a struggle. Naming the most important person (or people!) in your life is a big deal and one that can seem completely overwhelming. Some find ‘the one’ early in their pregnancy and some, like Nadya, don’t find the right name for their baby until they’ve made their way into the world!
But what is certain is that you will find your perfect baby name.
My husband and I fell in love with the name ‘Juliette’ early on. We both loved Juliette Lewis and loved the fact that the name was unusual and not very popular when she was born. It means ‘youthful’ and this is such a big part of her personality. She’s already a joker and I know she’ll have a playful side way into adulthood and beyond, and I love that about her.
Nadya and I are so grateful for you visiting our blog.
We want to help you find your perfect baby name and, in turn, your perfect baby life.
